Profile

I am a research associate in Mechanical Engineering and hold an honours degree in Automotive Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Cukurova University, Adana. I am coming to the end of my PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield.

My research involves Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) and Diode Dot Melting (DPM). These are metal 3D manufacturing technologies that offer the opportunity to produce complex and lightweight parts that are impossible to produce with traditional manufacturing methodologies.

Research interests

My research is in the area of Additive Manufacturing (AM) (also known as 3D printing and Rapid Manufacturing), a layer by layer process which produces fully functionally parts directly from a CAD model.

I have been involved in AM since 2016 and started to work on Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) specialising in development of machines capable of fast printing with multiple heads.

After I arrived in the UK in 2020, I started to work on metal based 3D printing technologies. I have worked with a number of AM technologies such as Selective Laser Melting (SLM), Diode Area Melting (DAM) and Diode Point Melting (DPM) processing a variety of titanium alloys, stainless steels and coppers for aerospace, automotive and medical industries.

I am currently developing using multiple diode laser sources (diode point melting system integrated into laser optical pre-heating) to print a highly reflective materials with controlling thermal stress and microstructure.
