You are all invited to join the Launch Event of the edited volume by Dr Andrea Zappalaglio and Dr Enrico Bonadio, The Future of Geographical Indica ons: European and Global Perspec ves (Edward Elgar [forthcoming, February 2025]), followed by an interdisciplinary Roundtable Discussion of top experts in the field of Geographical Indica ons Law.
On Thursday the 12th of December 2024, from 1.30 pm, in the Moot Court Room of City Law School (London), Dr Andrea Zappalaglio (Lecturer in Intellectual Property Law, University of Sheffield, and incoming Associate Professor in Intellectual Property Law, University of Leeds) and Dr Enrico Bonadio (Reader in Law, City University of London) will present their new edited volume, The Future of Geographical Indica ons: European and Global Perspec ves (Edward Elgar [forthcoming, February 2025]). This book brings together leading experts to provide original and contemporary perspec ves on the evolu on and current state of Geographical Indica ons (GI) at European and global levels, focusing in par cular on the challenges that this dynamic area of Intellectual Property Law is likely to face in the foreseeable future. The Book Launch Event will feature the par cipa on of several of the scholars and experts who contributed to the volume. It will be followed by a Roundtable discussion with experts from the fields of legal prac ce, industry, producers’ associa ons as well as UK and EU ins tu ons who will provide their insight on the ques ons: ‘what advancements have been made by the Law of Geographical Indica ons in the EU and globally? What challenges must be tackled today and, likely, in the future?’. Light lunch and coffee will be provided.
