Profile

Before joining the University of Sheffield in 2025, I was an Associate Researcher at the ALERT Research Group, Middlesex University, and a Research Fellow at the Africa Digital Rights Hub. My research focuses on the intersection of law and technology, specifically AI governance, Generative AI, copyright, data protection, digital rights, and accountability in automated decision-making systems. My teaching and research interests also include Corporate and Commercial Law, Contract Law, Tort Law, Land and Property Law, and Intellectual Property Law. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at international conferences, and includes the co-authored book "Casebook on Privacy and Data Protection in Nigeria" 2025. I hold an LL.M. in Information Technology and Telecommunications Law from the University of Strathclyde and an LL.B. from Igbinedion University. I recently completed my PhD at Middlesex University on a rights-based approach to explanation in machine learning algorithms, awarded with no corrections. I am a qualified barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). To support high-quality teaching and supervision, I have undertaken certifications in learning and teaching theories and engage in ongoing professional development through conferences and workshops on AI, Generative AI, copyright, data protection, and legal governance.
