Your checklist
Complete your registration
The first thing you need to do is complete your registration.
Module Selection
Online module selection (OMS) is open. Please make sure this is completed before you arrive to enable you to start your studies. You can find all the information at this link that you need to select your modules
Japanese Language Training
For students who will enrol on programs with specialist Japanese language training, we have some work for you to complete to help you get a head start in your Japanese language studies. These exercises along with the short test, are designed to help you practise your Katakana and Hiragana. You can find all the materials, plus the test, in this folder. Please complete and submit the test by 11:59pm, Sunday, 21st of September.

Read the welcome from your Head of School
As the Head of School, I’d like to welcome you to our academic community and wish you many congratulations for the achievements that brought you with us. For some of you, this may be a return to the School of Languages, Arts and Societies, or to Sheffield, and, for others this might be a completely new experience in a new department, in a new university, city and country. In all cases, we are really looking forward to welcoming you. My colleagues and I are here to help, so please do get in touch if you have any queries or questions over the coming weeks. Complete your Digital Induction
My Digital Induction is a guide to the apps and software you will use at Sheffield. You should complete this before you arrive to make sure you know how to access everything you need.
You will receive a lot of emails during your time at University, so it’s also important that you learn how to effectively manage your University inbox making sure that you don’t miss any important information.
