From 18 – 20 May, University of Sheffield scientists are heading to your favorite local spots to turn complex research into casual conversation.

Our experts will share their work on topics ranging from artificial intelligence and cancer research to climate science, space exploration and the way society is changing.

PhD student Antonia Assersen-Skadberg from the School of Information, Journalism and Communication will be speaking as part of a session at 99 Mary Street on the 20th of May, giving a presentation entitled 'Media and War: Why do we need war correspondents?'.

In this presentation you will learn about what war correspondents do and why we need journalists on the ground to cover the events of war. You can expect to learn about the role of war correspondents, the threats they face while in conflict zones, and the potential lacking legal protections of war correspondents today.
