I am a historian of 20th century colonial South Asia. I completed my PhD. in Modern Indian History in 2016 from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), in New Delhi, India, before moving to Kings College London to pursue a European Commission funded Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellowship from 2016-19.
I joined the School of History, Philosophy and Digital Humanities at the University of Sheffield as Lecturer in Modern History in 2024, from the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at University of Oxford, where I taught Modern South Asian Studies for three years. Prior to that, I have taught at Kings College London, SOAS and LSE.
I research, teach and supervise on histories and politics of gender, communal violence and histories of the Partition of 1947, social and emotional histories of the World Wars in colonial India. I am passionate about the politics of decolonisation and dedicatedly work towards decolonising the discipline of history.
