About the HEIG

The Health Equity and Inclusion Group (HEIG) was established in 2015 to advance research that supports action to reduce health inequities.

On

Our goal

To work in partnership with local people and stakeholders to improve understanding of, and action on, health inequity.

Our principles

  • We focus on the social and political determinants of health.
  • We specialise in participatory and inclusive research methods.
  • We use theory-informed approaches to addressing health inequity.

Our team

Our members are predominantly based in the Sheffield Centre for Health and Related Research (SCHARR) but include others across the Faculty of Health and the wider University.

We welcome the involvement of anyone interested in health equity research.
