Welcome from the President and Vice-Chancellor

Graduation is an important milestone, and an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished, and wish them every success for their next chapter.

This week is also an important week for our University, as we welcome University of Sheffield alumnus Andy Haldane as our ninth University Chancellor. Andy is a highly-respected economist, named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in 2014, who has had a distinguished career spanning economics, public service, and academia. We are honoured to be hosting his installation ceremony as part of this week’s celebrations.

I would like to offer a warm welcome to everyone who has travelled across the UK, or from around the world, to join us today – as well as those watching on our livestream. Thank you for supporting our students during their time with us.
