Forged in Sheffield, Shaping the Future is a major new campaign designed to accelerate and advance the influence, progress and potential of the most vital facets of university and civic life.

The philanthropic passions and interests of our supporter community are broad but they all have one thing in common, they want to see a better future. With you by our side, we can commit to funding the people and projects who have the biggest potential to make change happen.

Together, we will enhance Student Success through wider access and increased financial support, accelerate the impact of our academic Research in areas where we’re already a global leader, and use our expertise, networks and influence to fuel a new era for our City & Region.

Shaping the future means strengthening student success and providing better access to support social mobility. It means championing research that will bring better health to people around the world, and fast-tracking solutions for the environment. It means fuelling a new era for our city and region, showcasing Northern talent and innovation, and enhancing our reputation locally, regionally, and globally.

Critically, shaping the future also means doing something today. It means mobilising the right people and giving them the right tools, so they can get on and do what needs to be done. It means playing to our strengths, working together, and taking responsibility for the world we want and the world we need.

Our goals, like our University, are ambitious and forward-looking. Over the full course of the Forged in Sheffield, Shaping the Future campaign, we aim to raise £250 million in philanthropic donations, and increase our volunteer engagement by 250,000 hours.

All donations, both of money and time, will be used to further our work across three key areas: bolstering Student Success through wider access and increased financial support, strengthening and accelerating the impact of our academic Research in areas where we’re already a global leader, and increasing the impact of the University’s benefit for our City & Region.

Your gift, whether made as a financial donation or as a pledge of your time and engagement, will accelerate and enhance the areas of University life that you personally care most about. It will help us deliver better, more meaningful impacts for our students and for our city.

If you do choose to make a gift or pledge future support, we’ll help ensure that your donation is tax efficient, and that your philanthropic experience with us is personally rewarding.
