My academic journey began with a BSc in Chemistry in Taiwan, followed by a transition to the University of Sheffield, where I earned my MSc and PhD (2025) in Materials Science and Engineering. My doctoral research focused on the optimisation of cathode materials for Sodium-ion batteries, specifically investigating crystal structure and multiphase modifications through sustainable synthesis methods.
While my research allowed me to develop advanced characterisation techniques, my time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Multidisciplinary Engineering Education (MEE) shifted my focus. I discovered a passion for the laboratory environment and student instruction, which led me to pursue a career combining technical expertise with hands-on student support.
I officially joined the MEE team in November 2025 as a Support Technician: Teaching, supporting the ACME (Aerospace, Civil, and Mechanical Engineering) theme. I am primarily based in the Fluids Lab, Thermodynamics Lab and Structures Lab. My role involves the technical setup of experimental equipment and providing direct, practical support to students during their laboratory sessions.
Beyond my core technical duties, I am a passionate advocate for STEM outreach. As a Discover Materials Ambassador, I designed and fabricated the ‘Energy Box’—an interactive lab simulation that helps students explore the fundamentals of renewable energy and energy storage in an engaging, accessible way.
Teaching Interests:
- Structures and Dynamics
