Circular economy and supply chain sustainability
Our research creates future supply chains, systems and societies that are resource and energy efficient.
Looking beyond the current take-make-dispose industrial model, a circular economy is an alternative to a traditional linear economy. It aims to redefine growth, focusing on positive society-wide benefits, where products are kept in use for as long as possible, with value recovery and regeneration at the end of their useful life.
Our research will advance the current understanding of the circular economy from economic, environmental and social perspectives, providing policy insights and implications for practice.
We enable organisations to map their supply chains and identify improvement opportunities in terms of economic, environmental and social factors. And, we facilitate collaboration between industry, regulators, Government and academia to establish and promote sustainable innovations.
Our facility, the Advanced Resource Efficiency Centre supports the development of resource sustainable supply chains by proposing new ways of reducing risk for partners in overcoming the challenges of resource availability.
