Accelerating Hydrogen
21 - 22 September 2021
Online conference
Supporting UK leadership in the global hydrogen market
In the wake of the recently released Hydrogen Strategy by the UK Government, The University of Sheffield is hosting Accelerating Hydrogen, on 21 - 22 September. The conference will bring together industry leaders, investors, innovators, academic researchers and policy makers to understand the challenges and opportunities that arise from the Hydrogen Strategy and increased global demand for hydrogen.
The University of Sheffield, and it’s leading R&D facilities: the AMRC, NAMRC and the Translational Energy Research Centre, is working in collaboration with industry and policymakers to accelerate the nascent hydrogen economy and to maximise UK economic benefit.
The event aims to identify the key R&D challenges and opportunities that need to be addressed to drive the progress of UK industry in delivering the new products and technologies that will underpin a successful hydrogen economy.
The world is in crisis, climate change is something which we cannot stop and wait for someone else to fix, it is our responsibility now. The hydrogen solution for climate change is not the silver bullet, but it is one of the best bullets we have right now, and the announcements across the world to step away from Coal, Oil and Gas and transition to a decarbonised energy system is critical. This event comes a month after we have reflected on the IPCC Climate Report and UK Hydrogen Strategy - with the theme to “Accelerate Hydrogen” - to take action as companies, government and academia come together to make plan for the future of humanity in this COP26 year"

Our translational research centres
Accelerating Hydrogen is brought to you by leading translational research centres at The University of Sheffield.
The specialist hydrogen R&D facilities at The University of Sheffield are enabling the rapid transition of fundamental research into market-ready products.
Our facilities offer a fast-track to turning research into proven, sustainable, low- or zero-carbon products and services which are ready for deployment in the UK and beyond.
We can help to remove the financial risk of large-scale industrial pilot trials, offer enhanced capacity, flexibility and collaboration space and a significant scope of testing for our users.
