Permit system

Car parks at student residences are managed by the permit system. This ensures that car parks are only used by those who live on, work at and visit the site.

Staff can apply for a Category R permit and park at residences, walking the rest of their journey. In addition, there is public car parking at the Endcliffe Residences (Stanage).

There are two types of permit at student residences: Category R (Staff) and Category R (Student).

Electric vehicle charging and visitor parking

There are two public / visitor electric vehicle chargers in our Stanage Visitor Car Park. EV users will need to download the FUUSE app to use the EV charge units. Do note that this is a pay-by-phone car park and not a category R car park. 

Stanage car park is located at S10 3AF. Charges are: 
£1.00 for 0 - 1 hour, 
£2.50 for 1 - 4 hours,
£5 for 4 - 12 hours,
£6 for 24 hours,
£28 for 1 week.

Insurance

Students – are you insured? If you haven't informed your insurance company that you intend to bring your vehicle to University, you may not be insured. The change may also affect your insurance premiums.

We recommend that you make sure you have valid insurance cover before bringing your vehicle to Sheffield and applying for a permit.
