About the department

I believe here in Sheffield we have one of the largest, if not the largest, Automatic and Control departments in the UK. Here they provide us with the complete hands-on experience. My favourite part of studying here is the flexibility of our department when it comes to actually studying. It allows us to create our own strategies of time management.

Best modules

I really like the mechatronics module and the systems engineering one. Because both of these modules allow us to engage in really massive projects where our project management skills have to kick in. So like I believe it's one thing to have the technical knowledge and a completely different thing to be able to apply it in an efficient and correct way. These two modules allow me to test my problem-solving skills and my project management strategies. It's sort of acted as a simulation for the real world.

Summer placements

Last summer I had an internship at a multi-national NGO which focussed on my project management and consulting.  However I'm looking forward this summer to doing training at BMW Egypt. By the end of my degree I'd like to have some experience in the technical area and in consulting and project management.

After I finish I'm looking forward to apply for a MBA.

These two modules allow me to test my problem-solving skills and my project management strategies. It's sort of acted as a simulation for the real world.
