Why did you choose to study with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Sheffield?
"Learning knowledge in the field of Electronic Engineering was always my interest. As a world-class university leading in this field, the University of Sheffield was definitely a good option for me to get started.
The high academic requirement, state-of-the-art facility and nice people there all showed me that studying in the University of Sheffield would definitely provide me with an excellence experience here.
Moreover, next to the Peak District National Park and only 30 minutes railway service to Manchester, Sheffield has an outstanding environment as well as in a convenient location. It’s a nice place to study and live."
What did you enjoy most about the course?
"The semiconductor course and project taught by Prof. John David.
Prof. David, with his profound knowledge in the semiconductor field, made such an abstract course understandable and let me enjoy studying that. Under his kind and comprehensive supervision, I got the chance to enjoy research so much that it helped to make up my mind to pursue a PhD degree after my graduation. The experience with Prof. David was helpful and unforgettable to me."
What did you enjoy most about being at the University of Sheffield and why?
"The location of the University of Sheffield is great. Very close to West Street, it’s convenient to have a delicious meal after class.
Moreover, the Information Commons, the library that I used to study in, is close to the teaching building ( the Diamond), so I think that helped me a lot in saving commuting time.
What are your future plans?
"Currently, I’m trying my best to pursuing a PhD degree, which is challenging and risky. And if I successfully complete it, I might seek a R&D job either in industrial or academic field."
What advice would you give to students who are considering their university options?
"Studying Sheffield will definitely be a great experience for you if you want to explore the world of EEE and you will never be disappointed."
