Profile

Harvey joined the School of Economics in 2026 as a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow following his PhD at the European University Institute. Prior to his PhD, he graduated from the University of Sheffield obtaining a BSc and MSc in Economics in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Harvey's research focuses on the macroeconomic implications of immigration, exploring how changes in the composition and scale of immigrant labour shape wages, employment, and broader economic outcomes. A unifying theme across his work is the importance of looking beyond direct labour market competition to understand the full economic consequences of immigration— tracing how its effects ripple through interconnected industries, occupational structures, and technological adoption decisions.
