Profile

Omar is an empirical macroeconomist with research interests in optimal monetary policy and the equilibrium interest rate. He received his PhD in Economics from King’s College London, prior to which he read Economics at the University of Cambridge and studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of London.

Research interests

My research focuses primarily on topics in optimal monetary policy. I am particularly interested in the natural rate of interest and the dynamics of inflation and output, drawing on time-series and semi-structural methods to study how these macroeconomic concepts evolve over time.
