Bagus is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Sheffield, with a full scholarship from the Indonesian Ministry of Finance. He earned his M.Sc. in International Development: Public Policy and Management from The University of Manchester in 2016, funded by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP). Prior to that, Bagus completed a B.B.A. in Public Economics Management at the National Institute of Public Administration in Jakarta, Indonesia. He also holds a Diploma III in Finance, specialising in Taxation, from the College of State Accountancy (PKN STAN) in Jakarta.

Prior embarking on his Ph.D. journey, Bagus carved a remarkable career path in the field of finance and taxation. He held the esteemed position of a tax policy analyst at the Indonesian Tax Authority and later ascended to become the Head of the Piru Tax Office. His impressive journey spans over 15 years of service at the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, where he took on various pivotal roles, including Tax Reform Executive Member, Business Process Engineer, and Account Representative.

At present, Bagus is deeply immersed in an intriguing research project titled 'Exploring the Nexus of Detection Probability, Assets Disclosure, and Tax Compliance.' His research interests encompass a diverse range of topics, including tax compliance, tax policy, public finance, behavioural economics, macroeconomics, and quasi experiments. Bagus also shares his knowledge and experience by serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, guiding students in courses such as ECN130 Economic Analysis and Policy (Tutorial), ECN332 Economics Undergraduate Dissertation, ECN31004/31005 Undergraduate Final Presentation at the University of Sheffield and ECO00002I Macroeconomics II at the University of York.

Beyond his academic and professional endeavours, Bagus is an active contributor to various organisations. He currently leads as the Chairman of the Indonesian Tax Centre in the United Kingdom (Intact UK), a professional non-profit organization that fosters academic and professional discussions in the fields of taxation, economics, and public finance. The organisation's mission is to expand Indonesia's tax perspective and bridge the gap between academia and policymakers. Additionally, Bagus serves as an Administrator at the Sheffield Economic Research Paper Series (SERPS) within the School of Economics at the University of Sheffield.
