Head of the School of Economics, Professor Sarah Brown, said, "It was great to see Matin receive his Honorary Doctorate of Letters at the January 2026 graduation ceremony.  Martin’s contributions and campaigns have undoubtedly enhanced the financial wellbeing of individuals and households in the UK. As the School of Economics houses one of the largest household finance research groups in the UK exploring themes such as financial literacy, debt and saving behaviour, we were delighted to see Martin accept his honorary degree alongside the graduating postgraduate students from the School of Economics."
