Description:

Yixing Zisha (Purple Clay) pottery is a rare and refined art form unique to Jiangsu Province. This event will include a live demonstration by Ministry of Education-recognized heritage experts, showcasing the craftsmanship of handmade teapots and allowing attendees to experience the process firsthand.

We are bringing a unique tea experience to the UK, showcasing a special vessel that sets this tradition apart from British tea culture. Our goal is to offer tea lovers a new and enjoyable way to appreciate the art of tea.

Yuan Shuai

Dr Yuan Shuai, Doctor of Philosophy in Chinese Literature at Fu Jen Catholic University, is an associate researcher at the School of Arts of Nanjing University. She has served as a foreign affairs secretary at the School of Arts of Nanjing University and has been a lecturer in calligraphy courses at UNESCO. She is now the executive director of the "Ministry of Education Nanjing University Zisha Cultural Heritage Base", which concentrates on undergraduate art education while also organizing activities to promote cultural development in middle schools, primary schools, and communities, thus advancing the popularity of zisha culture.

Her research areas include calligraphy aesthetics, Zisha art education, and cross-media art theory. She has published a monograph and more than ten professional papers.

She has won the "All-around Second Prize" in the First Jiangsu Province Art Teacher Basic Skills Demonstration Competition, the Nanjing University "Education Integration" Teaching Award, and other honors.
