dates and times
Use 25 July, not July 25 or 25th July. Don't abbreviate the month. Omit the day of the week and year, unless needed for clarity, in which case write out the year in full:
25 July 2021
Use am and pm, not the 24-hour clock. Use full stops not colons as separators.
9.30am not 09:30
11.30pm not 23:30
12 noon
12 midnight
1pm not 1.00pm
Note there is no space between the number and am or pm.
Avoid vague time references such as will be online soon and some time next year.

degree class
First, 2:1, 2:2, 3rd. Use First, never 1st. Use a capital when referring to a First, but lower case for first-class degree. Never use first degree, as this can be confused with an undergraduate degree.
She was awarded a First in biology
He was awarded a 2:1 in English
She was awarded a first-class degree in chemistry
departmental
Try to use the name of the department instead, if you can:
Management School open days, Geography common room.
If you can't be specific, use 'department open days' instead.
department, school and faculty names
