Step inside one of Sheffield’s historic landmarks during Heritage Open Days 2026.

Built following the Church Building Act 1818 and now used as a University of Sheffield lecture theatre, St George’s Church has many stories to tell. Join a specially curated tour to discover the building’s history, the everyday lives of people connected to the church and the surrounding area, and the peregrine falcons that return each year to nest in its tower.

Tours will take place during the first weekend of Heritage Open Days. Each tour is limited to 20 people, with 15 tickets available to book online and up to five places reserved for walk ins. Tour dates and times are listed above.
