More Than a Degree: 120 Years of Life at the Students' Union

Come and join us as we celebrate 120 years of our amazing Students' Union, proudly voted the best in the UK in 2025 by the National Student Survey!

Take a guided tour of our modern SU and get a feel for what it’s like to be part of today’s vibrant student community. Afterwards, step back in time with a private viewing of Western Bank Library’s fascinating exhibition, More Than a Degree: 120 Years of Life at the Students' Union.

This special display showcases incredible stories of student life, historic documents from the University archives, artefacts, photographs, and personal memories spanning the SU’s rich history. Discover how the Students' Union has grown into such a cherished part of the Sheffield student experience.

We’ll also have refreshments ready for you and a guest. The event is free, but spaces are limited, so don’t forget to let us know if you’d like to join by filling out the online booking form.
