You're invited to the next Bright Minds Live event, here on campus, showcasing the groundbreaking work of some of Sheffield's most exciting early-career researchers.
Join this insightful and inspiring panel for a rounded discussion that will show there’s not one answer to tackling the climate crisis. From sustainable cities and construction materials to cleaner energy and less pollution. These Sheffield researchers are at the forefront of solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Our panel features perspectives from:
- Dr Charles Gillott, Postdoctoral Research Associate, on rethinking the second life of buildings - the circular economy in action.
- Olivia Linley, PhD Student, on exploring the power of water by fuelling industry with green hydrogen.
- William McMahon, PhD Student, on the chemistry and engineering of low-carbon alkali activated cement.
- Dr Rohit Chakraborty, Environmental Public Health Scientist, on mapping air pollution - low-cost sensors for cleaner cities.
The discussion will be expertly chaired by Professor Tony Ryan, Co-Director of the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures, who will guide our panelists through their fascinating research journeys, motivations, and future aspirations.
Following the panel discussion, you’ll have the chance to connect with Tony and the panelists plus other talented early-career researchers from across the university. You are welcome to bring a guest, enjoy light refreshments and get to see inside the University’s Diamond building.
