Dr Ian Gabbott

Ian is a Senior Scientist in Pharmaceutical Development at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.

He completed a PhD at the University of Sheffield in 2007. Following this, he joined AstraZeneca at their Macclesfield, UK site, where there is a strong Research and Development presence. Here, he has worked on a number of late stage development projects involving the development, scale-up and site transfer of granulation processes.

His main research interest is in high shear granulation and compression, with particular emphasis on process optimisation and characterisation of intermediate product properties.
