Professor Göran Alderborn

Goran Alderborn is a pharmacist by training and got his PhD in Pharmaceutics at Uppsala University in 1985. In 1987, he joined Uppsala University as a lecturer and has held the chair in Pharmaceutical Technology at the same university since 1998. He has served as an academic leader for several years, including head of department, dean of faculty of pharmacy and deputy vice president of Uppsala University. He is a member of the Royal Society of Sciences in Sweden.

Goran has published about 125 original research papers and supervised more than 15 PhD students. He has on numerous occasions acted as reviewer for scientific journals and for innovation projects and has a vast experience on collaboration with society in different roles.

Gorans research field is in the formulation technology of solid dosage forms and the general area of particle technology. Current research focuses on developing the concept of analytical powder compression including the prediction of powder tabletability, the technology of inhalation powders of different drug modalities and the technology of controlled release formulations.
