The Bronze award recognises the steps we've taken to create an inclusive environment for staff and students.
The Athena SWAN award recognises our commitment to providing a positive culture for women working in engineering by addressing the gender imbalances that can prevent members of the department from reaching their full potential. Our application outlined the positive practices we have adopted and the areas of improvement which we are addressing through our action plan.
We are delighted that our Athena SWAN Bronze Award has been renewed. The Award is a demonstration of our commitment to having an inclusive and positive environment where our staff and students can thrive.
Since our first submission through the Athena SWAN Charter we have worked hard to embed Athena SWAN principles in all our activities, from learning and teaching to student recruitment, outreach and research. We are proud of what we have accomplished so far and are committed to to expand our actions and activities as we move forward.
