During Urban October, the Urban Institute is co-hosting the first Sheffield-based meeting of founders of charities, social enterprises, and impactful organisations to connect, collaborate, and shape the future of our local community, in partnership with Social Founders, the South Yorks Community Foundation and CIVA, the Centre for Innovation in Voluntary Action.
Social Founders is a global network, set up to support, connect and celebrate founders of social impact organisations - charities, CICs, community groups, social enterprises, and for profits with social impact as their primary purpose. The workshop is to explore the value of a new branch in Sheffield and/or wider S.Yorkshire with organisations already working in the area.
The meeting on 15th October is hosted by Social Founders lead Caroline Diehl, and is to explore how Social Founders might take this forward, and share with other organisations what has been successful in their other local/regional branches. It is aimed at social impact organisations to enable them to meet other founders who understand the challenges and joys of social leadership, share insights and ideas for what this network should be and build connections that will strengthen work and impact.
