Serena holds a PhD in Disaster Risk Reduction from University College London and has extensively worked on communication during and after disaster events. Currently she is the project manager of the project gEneSys - Transforming Gendered Interrelations of Power and Inequalities in Transition Pathways to Sustainable Energy Systems that investigates gender dimensions of the energy transition by conceptualising energy transition as a dynamic, gendered, mission-oriented socio-technical innovation ecosystem with several ‘subsystems’ (technological, policy, social, environmental, governance, and economic) each one embedding specific power relations.
During the Visiting Fellowship Serena will discuss and further develop her ERC proposal that will look into sustainability transitions-related processes in post-disaster recovery contexts.
