Technical staff network
Our technical staff network welcomes colleagues from all disciplines and areas of the University, technical and non technical.

Our technical staff network, TechNet, exists to increase the visibility of technicians, provide opportunities for networking and sharing good practice, and to support colleagues to learn about other areas of the University.
Established in 2014 by two University technicians, Natalie Kennerley and Melanie Hannah, the network welcomes technical colleagues from all disciplines and areas of the University, although non-technical colleagues with an interest in our event topics or the Higher Education technical landscape are also encouraged to engage.
TechNet organises several networking events as well as one social event every year, with opportunities for colleagues to showcase their work and celebrate their successes. TechNet events are primarily aimed at and inspired by the talented technicians working at our University and have included diverse topics such as: TechNet tours weeks; technician showcases; sustainability; staff wellbeing; career development; technical involvement in capital equipment purchasing; and cross-Faculty networking sessions.
TechNet also hosts an active mailing list where information relevant to our technical community is shared.
