After completing a Master of Biological Science degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Sheffield, I joined Professor Dickman’s research group in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering on a University of Sheffield EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership - Institute of Sustainable Food Scholarship. My research focuses on the production and characterisation of RNA-based biocontrols, in collaboration with Syngenta as an industrial sponsor. I am also a Grantham Scholar at the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures.
My research interests centre around the use of high-performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry to study biological systems. In particular, the study of RNA biochemistry, microbiology, microbial production systems, and synthetic biology. My interests also include proteomics and differential protein expression as well as the development and application of analytical methods to support biomanufacturing and bioprocessing.
