UK Society for Behavioural Medicine conference 2026 and free research workshops

The School of Psychology is hosting the annual conference for the UK Society for Behavioural Medicine 28-29th April with free pre-conference workshops taking place on the 27th April.

This is the 21st Annual Scientific Meeting showcasing the best of the UK’s research in behavioural medicine and the theme for this year's Conference is Building Health Equity Together: Perspectives, Communities and Behavioral Science.

On 27th April, there are pre-conference research workshops on Participatory Systems Mapping, AI and Automation in evidence synthesis, and How to be a good Chief Investigator: working with a Clinical Trials Unit. These are free to attend whether you go to the conference or not. Details and how to book can be found here. 

There is an exciting packed programme of talks with 4 keynote speakers and 5 streams of oral presentations including the following themes: 

  • Alcohol, tobacco and other substances
  • Behaviour change interventions (digital and non digital)
  • Climate change
  • Health services
  • Inequalities
  • Physical activity
  • Primary care
  • Psychological wellbeing
  • Stakeholder involvement
  • Weight management and healthy eating
  • Women’s health

The 2-day programme will include nationally and internationally renowned keynote speakers, parallel sessions, research awards, special interest group meetings, early-career researcher sessions, the Society’s Annual General Meeting, and opportunities to network and socialise (including UKSBM’s informal Social on Tuesday Evening).
