What is a credit score?

Credit scores are a system that banks and lenders use to work out how much money you could get when applying for financial services like credit cards, overdrafts or a mortgage.

Even if you’re not thinking about using any of these financial services yet, it’s important to know if there’s anything you’re doing right now that could be affecting your score.
