The Migration Research Group is calling for papers for the 2025 PhD conference. The theme is Reimagining Migration: Decolonisation and identity across time and space. It will be held on Friday 20th June 2025, in-person only at The Wave, The University of Sheffield.
We invite submissions for presentations (15 minutes per speaker) and posters (during the networking and lunch break) from PhD students which relate to the broad topic of migration and identity. We seek to include global perspectives, diverse case studies and decolonial thinking.
Presentations can include, but are not limited to the following themes as they relate to migration:
- Embodiment and emotionality across the life course
- Temporalities and geographies
- Decolonisation in theory and practice
- Ethics, reflexivity and creativity
- Methods and epistemic justice
Deadline for abstracts consisting of a title and no more than 250 words is 24th January 2025:
- Presentation: Submissions should include an abstract (max 250 words) and short biographical note (max 100 words) about the author including their current research area and relevant experience related to migration.
- Poster: Submissions should include an abstract (max 250 words) and short biographical note (max 100 words) about the author including their current research area and relevant experience related to migration.
