Description

VVIDY is excited to invite you to Freedom Seekers Internationalist Festival (FIF) on the 15-16th of November

Part of the Decolonial Open Communiversity, FIF is a movement building conference for the empowerment, self-determination and uplifting of the voices of the Global South.

Join VVIDY, the MRG, PIDICOLL, Migrants Organise, Sheffield City of Sanctuary, SYMAAG and allies to investigate and challenge the enduring impact of dehumanising language and terminology entrenched into colonial, supremacist narratives that uphold power imbalances, especially in migration discourses and policies.

Expect a day of unpacking colonialism and reimagining a different world where the migration systems of the West are not designed to stigmatise already displaced, dispossessed and indigenous communities and continue imperialism's divide-and-rule tactics in our communities.

On November 15th the festival will run from 9am-5pm, showcasing different community organisations, campaigns, academics and anti-racist organising.

Speakers include Kofi Mawuli Klu, Principle Convenor of the Pan-Afrikan Reparations Internationalist Standing Conference Honorary Elders Presidium (PARISC-HEP), Boucka Koffi, Melinda Momartinez, Sarli Nana and Dr Patrícia Nabuco Martuscelli (Migration Research Group).
