A warm welcome to the University Library!
Over the next few weeks, the library will be running a series of drop-in events for you to come and explore our spaces, as well as the opportunity to get your hands on this year's library goodies! You can get your library pens, pencils, and fabric pencil case to keep them in that you decorate in the Digital Commons. We will also be giving out free apples as a healthy snack to help you get into the new semester spirit!
Drop-in sessions
Our drop-in sessions are taking place at the Information Commons and Western Bank Library. These sessions give you the chance to meet your library team, find out about our spaces and services...and of course to get your hand on library freebies!
These drop-in events are a great opportunity for you to:
- Meet the Library team and find out about how we can support you online and in person, whenever you need us
- Take a tour of the Digital Commons in the Information Commons and explore all the different activities in the makerspace, and decorate your free pencil case with DIY pin badges, markers, and fabrics
- Learn about Research Skills and Critical Thinking workshops, and get a taster of how the sessions are run at the Information Commons
- Find out more about our Special Collections, Heritage and Archives team who collect, preserve and provide access to our extraordinary collections , all of which you can access at Western Bank Library
- Get to know the Faculty Engagement Team and meet the librarian for your subject
- Make sure you get your library freebies!

Library Quest
Back by popular demand...the time has come to embark upon your quest once again!
Whether you are a new or returning student, studying online or on campus, you can join this year's Library Quest to discover all the treasure the Library holds.Undertaking the quest will mean you are automatically entered into the prize draw for the chance to win one of two University of Sheffield hoodies!
