Tom is a PhD candidate in the Planavsky Group at the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Yale. His research focuses on tracking silicate mineral dissolution reactions in lab and field experiments, and applying this to enhanced rock weathering. Much of this involves clean lab work with trace metal isotopes at the Yale Metal Geochemistry Center. Prior to his PhD work, Tom completed a master’s degree in Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford. Besides carbon dioxide removal and enhanced weathering, Tom has worked and published on topics in basin sedimentology and ocean oxygenation throughout Earth history.
