As part of your offer holder day at Sheffield, you'll be spending some quality time getting to know the school and your chosen course.

Arriving at your session
You will have booked to visit us 10am to 12.30pm or 2pm to 4.30pm on your offer holder day (list of dates below). Please arrive in good time for the start of your booked session, as we'll need to scan the QR code from your booking to register you. There will also be lots of open day staff and ambassadors around campus to assist you.
- 21st February 2026 - Your arrival location is: John Carr Design Suite C29, at Portobello Centre, Pitt Street, Sheffield, S1 4ET. You can also view this on our interactive campus map.
- 7th March 2026 / 28th March 2026 / 18th April 2026 - Your arrival location is Discovery Rooms at Sheffield Student's Union, Western Bank, Broomhall, Sheffield S10 2TG. You can also view this on our interactive campus map.
When booking, you'll be able to reserve a place for yourself and one guest at the department activities. To ensure safe venue capacities, the department will be unable to accommodate any additional unbooked visitors.
However, you're welcome to bring additional guests to accompany you on the day, and we would encourage these guests to take part in our range of central exhibitions and tours while the department activities are running.

| 30 minutes | Expert Insight & Student Life: Meet with our academics and current students over refreshments | This session is your opportunity to engage directly with people who shape the course and live the student experience. For Academic Guidance: Speak directly with our academics- including the Programme Lead and Language Teaching Specialists - across all our major specialisms (French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American, Russian, Czech & Slavonic Studies). They are here to provide detailed insights into specialist culture modules, language teaching methods, Year Abroad options, and career opportunities. For the Student Perspective: Connect with current students to hear first-hand about the exciting Sheffield social scene, life in the city, and getting involved in student societies. |
| 60 minutes | BA Modern Languages and Cultures Programme Overview: Your future in languages: From curriculum to community and employability. | This essential session provides a full and exciting overview of the BA Modern Languages and Cultures degree, seamlessly pulling together your taster experiences and language conversations. Explore: A showcase of the diverse and compelling modules you will study from Year 1 through to graduation. Develop: Learn about the powerful knowledge and skills you'll develop through our distinctive student-centred approach to teaching and learning. Discover: Our unique commitment to student experience, welfare, and critical employability skills. The final 15 minutes are dedicated to personal, authentic insights from our current students. They'll share their experiences of studying one, two or three languages, their favourite modules, and the life-changing rewards of the Year Abroad. This is your chance to gain a personal, insider view of student life and appreciate the career-defining value of a Language degree in today's increasingly globalised world. |

Dual Degree Drop-in Session
If you are studying a Modern Languages and Cultures degree with English, Linguistics, History or Music and want ask a question to an academic then this is perfect opportunity to do so. Our Dual Degree Drop-in Session will take place between 12:30pm to 2pm on the ground floor foyer at Jessop West you will have the opportunity to chat with an academic about your dual degree.

International undergraduate scholarships
We are offering scholarships of £2,500 for each year (subject to a 60% average) of your undergraduate degree. The maximum value is £10,000 for four-year programmes.
