The University has made my career journey easier.
I first heard about the University of Sheffield through my research for top UK schools for an LLM. I already have an LLB and I always wanted to do a master’s degree as well. I had a friend living in Sheffield who I was able to speak to about the University, the facilities and the city. I chose Sheffield because the law department is very good. My other highlights of Sheffield are the excellent library, the world-renowned reputation and the vibrant city life.
The School of Law is a top 10 law school and they provide excellent support. The lecturers reply quickly to emails and the school regularly has employability sessions where they have a variety of different firms come down here and speak to us. This has prepared me extremely well for my career as I now know what firms are looking for in applications.
My first impression of Sheffield was that I thought it was very beautiful. It's green and everything is relatively close to student accommodation, and everyone is very friendly. The Students' Union is amazing and there are so many societies to become a part of. I am a member of the People and Planet society, Edbram Law Society, Afro-Caribbean Society, and the Black and Ethnic Minority committee. There is a huge international student presence here and societies are a great way to make new friends. I also enjoy the club nights at the SU.
To anyone considering Sheffield, I would highly recommend it!
