Apart from being a top ranking university in the UK, the best thing about Sheffield is its diversity

The University of Sheffield is known for its excellence in research- led teaching. It has great facilities, several libraries and an excellent Students’ Union. This place nurtures creative thinking and imagination and is home to passionate researchers from around the world as the programme attracts people from different countries, cultures and academic backgrounds, expanding one’s social and professional network and actively sharing ideas at a global level. Being an international student, initially, I felt it would be very difficult to adjust to a new environment with new people, cultures, education system and new accents away from home. But Sheffield made me feel that it could be my home for next two years. The faculty and my colleagues here have made my life ten folds easier by supporting me through anything that I need help in, be it educational help or emotional. 

As an international student, I feel very glad to have selected Sheffield as my place of study. I wouldn't say that I haven’t faced any challenges here but yes, I am so glad that I made the decision to come here. Being here and allowed me to become a better person each day and has made me a very confident and independent individual.  I feel very fortunate to be part of such an esteemed University. 

The most enjoyable highlight of my course has been the module  "Live Project". It is a very innovative  and novel approach within the course , making students confident while dealing with real clients and fellow mates. Here, we were 14 of us in a team from entirely different background , ethnicity, country and culture. This is where I laid my ideas and concepts and communicated with all 14 of my teammates  -  a diverse range of audience. This so far has been the highlight of my course.
