The Gold Medal Award is the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology's (ASPNR’s) highest honour. It is bestowed upon distinguished individuals in recognition of extraordinary, notable, and prestigious achievements and contributions in the field of paediatric neuroradiology.
Professor Griffiths accepted the prestigious award on 18 January 2025 at the 7th Annual Meeting of the ASPNR in Austin, Texas where he delivered the Gold Medal Award Lecture on ‘Planning and Luck’.
Jim Wild, Professor of Magnetic Resonance Physics at the University of Sheffield and Co-Director of the Insigneo Institute, commented: “Paul has been central to establishing the clinical role of brain MR imaging in infants and in utero, he has made a major international contribution to this field. Paul has been a member of the Insigneo Institute since the early days and his contribution to imaging research in Sheffield over the years has been massive. Congratulations on this well-deserved lifetime achievement award from all his colleagues.”
