Philosophy masters courses
We offer MA degrees in philosophy and cognitive science. Our Philosophy MA is a flexible introduction to postgraduate study in philosophy, while the interdisciplinary Cognitive Science and Philosophy of AI MA benefits from teaching contributions from other departments.

Postgraduate Diploma
We offer a Postgraduate Diploma in Philosophy, following the same pattern as the MA Programmes but assessed by coursework essays alone (with no dissertation).
The course runs for nine months.
Candidates take four modules (120 credits), and write four essays of 4-6,000 words, or eight essays of 2-3,000 words.
We do not accept candidates onto the diploma directly. All students are admitted onto the MA initially, but may be transferred to the diploma programme in the course of the year.
International postgraduate taught scholarships
We're offering scholarships worth up to £3,000 to international students joining the University to study a taught masters programme in September 2026.
