Dr Catherine Wong

Catherine is a Teaching Associate in Digital Humanities. Her research centres on computational approaches to language, with particular interests in language change, cultural expression and identity across historical and contemporary contexts.

She specialises in computational corpus linguistics and methodological innovation, developing computational approaches for the investigation of linguistic patterns, conceptual structure and cultural meaning across English and non-European linguistic contexts. Her work combines corpus-based methods with the development of interactive research software and AI-assisted approaches to humanities research.

Her current research interests include computational historical linguistics, corpus stylistics and computational approaches to literary and popular cultural texts, including song lyrics, alongside computational research methods and AI-assisted research software development.
