Having carried out our annual Ash Dieback Survey in the summer, five trees were identified as high priority needing to be felled due to their poor condition.
Five ash trees will be felled this month. One is near to the Wave and another near to Elmfield building, with the other three located at the Management School. Four are close to public highways which are well used by vehicles and pedestrians. Traffic management measures will be in place for the work at the Management School.
The felling of trees is always the last resort for the University and in accordance with our policy we will be planting replacement trees at a ratio of 2:1 in the growing season.
We will also be pruning six ash trees to protect their vitality at our Endcliffe Student Village, in accordance with the recommendations of the survey.
