Low-cost evening and weekend parking introduced at University sites

Five University car parks can now be used by the general public and by staff without a University parking permit outside of core hours following the installation of ANPR cameras.

This change provides a convenient and low-cost option for parking during non-peak times (17:00–07:00 weekdays and all day at weekends), while also helping to fund our active and sustainable travel initiatives and the upkeep of our car parks.

The car parks are:

  • Dam House
  • Mappin Street
  • Regent Court
  • Northumberland Road
  • Stanage (at the student residences)

General public and staff without parking permits

  • Parking available from 17:00–07:00 on weekdays and all day on weekends.
  • £2 evening/overnight (17:00–07:00).
  • £3 all day at weekends.
  • Payment will be made using new RingGo car park codes which are advertised on new signage in the carparks:
    • Central campus (Dam House, Mappin Street, Regents Court, Northumberland Road): 450029
    • Stanage: 450016

Staff with permits

  • Continue to use the existing RingGo code for permit holders.
  • You are still able to pay the staff tariff for shorter periods when needed.
  • Staff without a permit must use the public tariff detailed above
