Timeframe and access

To minimise disruption as much as possible, the majority of the work is being carried out over three consecutive weekends starting on Saturday 8 August.

No works will be taking place on the post results open day on Saturday 15 August and the project is scheduled to be completed by Sunday 23 August.

On these weekends pedestrian access should be from Firth Court Quad, accessed from Back Lane.

There will be no vehicular access to the front of Firth Court on 8, 9, 16, 22 and 23 August.

There will be some ground works taking place on the weekdays from Monday 10 to Friday 21 August.  Whilst it will be more limited, both pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained throughout the works.  This includes access to the car park under Addison Building.

Details of the work

We are replacing the existing life-expired resin-bound surface that is in front of Firth Court main entrance and to the right hand side up to the Addison Building.

The works will involve removing the existing resin-bound surface and tarmac wearing course before laying a new tarmac wearing course, while retaining as many of the  existing cobbles and stone sets as possible.
