Economics offer holder days
As part of your offer holder day at Sheffield, you'll be spending some quality time getting to know the School of Economics and your chosen course.
Arriving at the school
You will have booked to visit the school at 10am to 12.30pm or 2pm to 4.30pm on your offer holder day. Please arrive in good time for the start of your booked session, as we'll need to scan the QR code from your booking to register you. Make sure to also check what time central university events are running so you can plan the rest of your day.
Your arrival location is: Lecture Theatre 3, the Wave. You can view this on our interactive campus map, and there will also be lots of open day staff and ambassadors around campus to assist you.
If you arrive late for your booked session, please report to the general information stand on the Students’ Union concourse, where event staff will be able to help.
When booking, you'll be able to reserve a place for yourself and one guest at the school activities. To ensure safe venue capacities, the school will be unable to accommodate any additional unbooked visitors.
However, you're welcome to bring additional guests to accompany you on the day, and we would encourage these guests to take part in our range of central exhibitions and tours while the school activities are running.
Economics offer holder timetable
You will have booked to visit the school from 10am to 12.30pm or 2pm to 4.30pm on your offer holder day. Here's what to expect from your time with us. Timings are approximate and are subject to change, and so we recommend checking back prior to the event.
Arrival and registration (30 minutes)
Arrive at the Wave for registration. Most of the activities will be based around Lecture Theatre 3 where you can help yourself to tea and coffee and meet our students and staff before the activities begin.
Course Talk (45 minutes)
Hear from staff and students about what studying Economics in Sheffield involves, and have the opportunity to ask questions about the course, Sheffield and university life.
For queries relating to admissions, support or accommodation our experts will be on hand to answer these in the Octagon Centre so please allow time to visit them.
Meet the School (20 minutes)
Take some time grab some refreshments and informally chat with academics, student ambassadors and your potential future course mates!
Exploring Economics (1hour 20 minutes)
Experience what it's like to be an Economics student at Sheffield! Take part in a taster lecture (run by one of our research-active academics), learn how to be a successful Economics university student and chat to our ambassadors about the ins and outs of Sheffield life.
Whilst our student ambassador part of the session is running, parents and supporters will have the opportunity to ask their own questions to our school's senior staff.
