These results are a testament to the hard work and commitment of every member of the department in teaching and supporting our students.

Across the seven broad themes we have increased the proportion of positive responses and improved our ranking among the Russell Group. Here are our results in relation to other Russell Group Universities:

Top 5 in the Russell Group for Teaching on my course

1st in the Russell Group for Learning opportunities

1st in the Russell Group for Assessment and feedback

1st in the Russell Group for Academic support

3rd in the Russell Group for Organisation and management

1st in the Russell Group for Student voice

Top 10 in the Russell Group for Learning resources

Beyond the Russell Group, we have significantly improved our position relative to UK institutions, including being in the top 10 for Student Voice.

Professor Sarah Brown, Head of the School of Economics, said “I am delighted by this year’s NSS results, which are a ringing endorsement of the commitment of all staff in the School of Economics to pursuing excellence in education. Being number 1 in the Russell Group for Student Voice is particularly pleasing and shows the value that we place on listening to and acting on student feedback.”

Director of Education in the School of Economics, Dr Daniel Gray, commented, “These results are due to the hard work and commitment of every member of the department in teaching and supporting our students, so thank you very much to everyone for all your efforts this academic year—they are clearly appreciated by our students.”
