Student Wellbeing and Welfare

Off

The University is here to support you. It is not just your education that is our priority, we also care about your wellbeing. Sometimes circumstances, which are outside of your control, may have an impact on your studies. This is why we have provisions in place to help you through such times.

It is a student’s responsibility to notify their School (or Schools if they are a dual student), at the earliest opportunity, if there are any extenuating circumstances that might have a bearing on their attendance, ability to study or complete assessments. It is preferable for a student to inform the School as soon as possible and by the deadlines which are set each semester and published by email and in the Student Handbook.

A student should contact their Personal Tutor and submit an Extenuating Circumstances Form (ECF) with supporting evidence via email to econsupport@sheffield.ac.uk, in order to bring their circumstances and the impact they have caused to the attention of the examiners.

The University’s extenuating circumstances policy can be found here https://students.sheffield.ac.uk/extenuating-circumstances. The Extenuating Circumstance Form (ECF) can be downloaded from this link.
