Her band Mountain Hovel Circle recently released the album Mudgut (Infant Tree, 2026). She teaches creative writing at the University of Nottingham.

Linda Kemp’s most recent book, Lamentation (Broken Sleep Books, 2026), is a sustained poetic indictment of austerity and the financialisation of care. Working in the registers of liturgy, biblical lament, and feminist political economy, it carries the weight of an elegy for the welfare state. Tender, prophetic, and unsparing, the book is at once analysis and threnody. Kemp’s other poetry books are: The Moral Theology of the Devil / Clothed with the Sun (Leafe Press, 2025), Annunciation Sonnets (Broken Sleep Books, 2024), Stitch (Contraband, 2020), and Lease Prise Redux (Materials, 2016).
